The Stanton Drew Circles, a prehistoric marvel in Somerset, captivate with their ancient mystery. Much like the famous Avebury and Stonehenge, these stones are surrounded by folklore.
Among the many legends, one tells of wedding guests who were turned to stone as punishment for dancing on into the Sabbath, bewitched by the Devil’s fiddle playing. Another tale claims that the stones come alive at midnight on the sixth night after a full moon to drink from a nearby river.
